Sally Bowles from
The Berlin Novels by Christopher Isherwood and Holly Golightly from
Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote. They're both similar in a way, with their inimitable style, their ruthless self absorption and their eccentric charm. Not to mention they've both been portrayed by legends on the big screen.
P.S. Honorable mentions: Granny Weatherwax (from Terry Pratchett's
Discworld) who is, in her own way, inimitable. And Miss Marple (by Agatha Christie) who is everybody's favourite crime-solving grandma. Well, more like spinster aunt. (Oh wait, do I notice a pattern here?)
2 poke(s):
I really REALLY want to read Breakfast At Tiffany's. Haven't gotten around to it.
@Mb
While you're at it, read Isherwood as well. I loved The Berlin Novels.
